Join us for the inaugural John J. Slocum Jr Memorial Lecture with Christopher Buckley. “My Old Man and The Sea” is a son’s memoir of sailing adventures with the late William F. Buckley, Jr. Christopher Buckley is a novelist, essayist, humorist, critic, magazine editor and memoirist. His books have been translated into sixteen foreign languages. He worked as a merchant seaman and White House speech writer. He has written for many magazines and newspapers and has lectured in over 70 cities around the world. He was awarded the Thurber Prize for American Humor and the Washington Irving Medal for Literary Excellence.

Please note this event will be at Bazarsky Hall, O’Hare Academic Building at Salve Regina University, Newport.

Doors open at 5:15 pm
