Senior Scientist at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Dr. Don Anderson will examine the recent red tide occurrences and discuss his pioneering work in the use of new sensing technologies to detect and define red tide.
Dr. Anderson is also the director of the Cooperative Institute for the North Atlantic Region as well as the U.S. National Office for Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs). He earned three degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology: a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a masters and doctoral degree in aquatic sciences from the Civil Engineering Department.
