Summer Sounds at the Redwood continues with The Weisstronauts, a Boston-based instrumental rock band featuring three lead electric guitarists Pete Weiss, Kenny Lafler, & Jeff Norcross. The band’s eclectic style weaves accessibly bizarre melodies and harmonies over a rhythm section with bassist Kevin Quinn, & drummers Nathan Logus & Jeff Berlin that can turn from surf to spy to country to psychedelia on a dime. With seven critically-acclaimed full length CDs and four EPs to their credit, The Weisstronauts created their latest, Hamming It Down, under “pandemic conditions.” Most of the songs were written in a fit of creativity in the spring and summer of 2020.
Since the group’s 1999 inception, The Weisstronauts’ music has been played often on NPR, college and commercial radio, as well as in several independent films.
