Sounds From The Big Chair: The High Tidals

July 22, 2021, 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm

Redwood Library and Athenæum

Born from world travel, a close-knit community, and a passionate love for music, The High Tidals are a high-energy cumbia band based in Newport, RI. Mixing heavy influence from old school Latin rhythms with some hints of reggae, hip hop, and psychedelic rock, they bring their own voice to cumbia, their biggest influences being Chico Trujillo, Afrosound, Steel Pulse, Los Mirlos, etc.. They have been featured at Guatemala Fest in Providence every year since 2018 and at events for local organizations like Live Local and Clean Ocean Access.

On the Redwood grounds. Bring a chair and picnic.
