On May 27th, the two organizations join together once again to begin a new series entitled “Jazz at the Redwood,” a venture that will bring some of the most notable jazz artists around today to Newport. The inaugural concert will be from pianist Paul Cornish. Paul is a brilliant piano player who has been active in his work with the Joshua Redman Quartet and Kendrick Scott. However this past August he released his debut album as a bandleader on Blue Note Records to a stellar reception from critics and audiences alike.
With drummer Jonathan Pinson and bassist Jermaine Paul in tow, Paul will offer Newport a mix of material from the 2025 release, “You’re Exaggerating”, with new compositions sprinkled in as well. Please join us for what is sure to be a magnificent glimpse into the future of the iconic Blue Note Records label and the future of the jazz genre as a whole.
Taking place at the Harrison Room at The Redwood Library, tickets will also include complimentary wine service from Bow Bar as well as small bites from Le Bec Sucre. Doors open at 6pm, the concert begins at 6:30. We look forward to seeing you for a thrilling evening in Puddingstone’s programming.
