Redwood Library & Athenaeum members are our first priority. Non-member researchers and tour groups are our second priority. Aquidneck Island residents, Ocean State Libraries (OSL) patrons, and library visitors are our third priority, and all LORI library members and other non-affiliated users are our fourth priority.
Access to services:
First priority users may access the library collection, spaces, and services during the hours we are open. Second priority users may access library services with a set appointment date. Third and fourth priority users may access library spaces during the hours we are open either by presenting an OSL library card or student ID or by paying a small admission fee. Use of our special collections is by appointment only, as scheduled with the archivist.
Third and fourth priority clientele may also borrow circulating materials through the interlibrary loan service provided by their public or institution library (including OLIS/LORI interlibrary loan). The Redwood Library & Athenaeum is a member of OCLC/FirstSearch and our circulating materials are made available for interlibrary loan to fourth priority users through those services. Circulating materials are defined as Adult Fiction, Adult Non-Fiction, Children's Books, Adult DVDs, and Adult CDs. New Books and New DVDS are for member use only for 6 months after being added to the collection. Special collections materials are not available for interlibrary loan.
