Borrowing Policies for Other Libraries
Other libraries may request to borrow materials from the Redwood Library and Athenaeum by placing requests through OCLC WorldShare ILL, the form below or by directly contacting the Redwood Interlibrary Loan staff (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Circulating items may be loaned for 28 day periods:
- All new books
- Magazines and newspapers
- All videotapes, DVDs and music CDs
- All circulating books except those designated as “new” including fiction, mystery and non-fiction in both LC and Cutter classifications (28 days)
- All audio books
- All children’s items regardless of format
Items that are not available for loan include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Reference titles
- New magazines and newspapers
- Special Collections
- Non-circulating general collections (such as damaged or fragile items) as applicable
Items may be renewed twice, unless there is a reserve by another patron. Please request a renewal before the initial loan period is up. After the second renewal, the book must be returned to the library. Renewals may be requested via WorldShare (if the source of the original request), e-mail or by telephone during regular hours of operation.
All loans are subject to recall and must be returned immediately if recalled.
If damage or loss occurs, the requesting library will compensate the Redwood Library the full replacement cost of the item as well as any seller-initiated shipping and handling costs and a $5.00 processing fee.
LORI Network Libraries may return materials via the LORI Delivery Service. The code for the Redwood Library & Athenaeum is “RED”
